My sis had one of those pink things - it was a hair dryer with a hose that coiled around inside the case

Hi. I'm writing to you because all your posts can't be downloaded if you will not update your RS settings.
You can read how to do this below.
Thanks in advance.

Rapidshare has introduced a new rule:

From January 16, 2013 the default access rights for RapidShare folders change. A folder with no specific access rights will be treated as a "private" folder. In your File Manager you can always check the access right setting of all folders. Please check the news for more information or contact the support.

So all of us have to change the settings for our RS folder(s). Unfortunately their website is not clear about how to do this. I mailed the support and am waiting for an answer. I'll inform you when I know more - or if someone finds out how to do it, please post it here.
Until then files will not be available for download from rapidshare, I'm afraid. So please be patient for some time.

think (or rather hope) I found out how to do it:

I created a new folder in my RS account, and made it a public folder, so everyone (who got a link to a file in that folder) can see and download from there. Then I moved my music uploads into that folder. It should work now. I can download them when logged out of my own RS account - which I couldn't before I created that folder.

Please give feedback whether it works with my files or not. If it works, friends, maybe you should do the same.

Some more instructions:

If you want to change the settings of a folder to public, all you need to do is right-click on the folder name (in the left column, under "My Folders"), choose "Privileges" and highlight the first two boxes under "Public Access".

If all your files used to be in the root directory (like I had it), you must create a new folder, give it a name and make it public in the way described above.

It's easy, actually - once you know how to do it, which took me quite some time.

If you want to check whether it works, log out of your RS account first and then try to download one of your files. If it works, fine. If not, try again and again and then it should work. If it still doesn't, you did something wrong.

And don't worry, the file names remain the same, after you moved your files into a new folder."

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a shot. Please continue to share what you learn about this.
